As we start 2016 Lucson and our Haitian partners are getting ready to start a new High School in the Jacob and Palma valley. The first High School ever to be built in this ignored and forgotten valley in Haiti. No longer will students have to live in rented rooms in a strange city a 5 hour walk away from their family if they want to attend High School.
Imagine now students completing High School in this valley and being equipped with the education needed to contribute to the valley’s development and see new roads built, better water and sanitation services, more trade and enterprise and an educated voice to make sure they enter the next decade no longer forgotten or ignored.
As this is happening even more guardians and parents are being given help to start their own micro-businesses in Jacob & Palma. This new group brings the total number of micro-loans provided and businesses helped to 160.
