Geoffrey’s life is changed

150 150 When I Grow Up

Geoffrey was born into extreme poverty, but because of the Furaha Community Foundation he was able to successfully graduate in 2018 as the school president without any fear that his schooling would be interrupted. He is now making a difference in his community. Geoffrey has entered into a career that enables him to break free from the chains of extreme poverty.

Let’s join together to see more stories like Geoffrey come to reality.

Your support, donations, and prayers are making a life-changing difference.

Listen to Jacob’s story…

150 150 When I Grow Up

Jacob faces the fear of arrest, hunger, and lack of basic necessities to live and provide for his family. This reality for him is no stranger to 1.9 billion people in the world who face these same fears as a result of extreme poverty. Yet, there is hope in his eyes when he speaks of the dreams he has for his children. When I Grow Up witnesses children who are being empowered out of extreme poverty, including Jacob’s children, only because of your donations and willingness to stand with the poor.

Where you live, should NOT determine if you live. Let’s keep changing lives together.

It’s not time to rest

1200 1556 When I Grow Up

Rest or complacency should not be in sight when people all over our world do not have food or basic necessities to survive.

1.9 billion people live in extreme poverty. Behind this startling statistic are people, people who work tirelessly to provide food for themselves and their children. Let’s stand along side the poor, let’s stand beside Risper.

Your giving lets her know she has a community.

Your giving lets her know she is not alone.

Your giving gives her hope.

Let’s not rest until extreme poverty is kicked off the face of the planet.

The students of Furaha’s grade 8 class will be taking their final exams in one week’s time. This exam is the pinnacle of the last many years’ work. Despite all the set backs endured this past year, the students are thankful. The teachers at Furaha have done everything possible to prepare each student for their tests. We pray over them as they continue final preparations.

Let’s keep praying.

We’d like to introduce you to the Furaha School Nurse, Lydia.

Lydia provides regular health screenings, treats injuries, supports students with chronic health conditions, and re-enforces the need for proper hygiene and nutrition so the students of Furaha can stay healthy.

Lydia’s role is a great blessing to the students of Furaha as each staff member works to empower children out of extreme poverty.

Thank you to each of you who donate to make a difference.

Reminder: Love In Action

…Your generosity, your prayers remind our dear friends that they are not alone and they are not abandoned. Your giving is love in action – in a profound and live-giving way…”

Watch below to see how your giving is changing lives

As June begins the amazing relief work of the Furaha team and the Go Guatemala Team push on with energy and determination.

The relief work is being led by amazing people. In Guatemala it’s spearheaded by a wonderful retired gentleman and in Kenya young college students lead the work to walk the alleys and bring blessed relief supplies.

All are our heroes.

Nairobi, Kenya and Guatemala City remain in lockdown with curfew.

The poor remain unable to work and with no work there is no money. No money = no food.

In Jacob and Palma, Haiti the school is closed and the teachers are all quarantined in Hinche (the main city near the school).

Like Kenya and Guatemala, in Haiti the Covid virus means everything remains closed down and life is even more just about survival!

And that’s where you come in! Your generosity, your prayers remind our dear friends that they are not alone and they are not abandoned. Your giving is love in action – in a profound and life-giving way.

Thank you.

While we all struggle with so much happening around us – and the fear, the anxiety, the tiredness it causes us – you are continuing to go beyond yourself to be a blessing to so many children and their families.

We remain humbly grateful.
