The Next Generation of World-Changing Leaders

Through the Furaha Community Foundation, many of the High School graduates are recipients of the Furaha Community Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship allows these graduates to pursue a University, College Degree or Vocational Training Diploma. If a student is empowered through advanced education their entire family is lifted out of extreme poverty. The scholarship make possible what the students could only dream of!

Meet Lydia!

She is the Furaha School Nurse. She is intervening and bringing health to the children of Furaha.

Furaha care for the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the children.

Your dollars are in action each and every day, as our partners make plans for the current times and the future.

The hiring of a school nurse to serve all students in the primary and the secondary school is allowing students the opportunity to be seen by a medical professional, a service that would not be offered otherwise in most homes.

The students of Furaha’s grade 8 class will be taking their final exams in one week’s time. This exam is the pinnacle of the last many years’ work. Despite all the set backs endured this past year, the students are thankful. The teachers at Furaha have done everything possible to prepare each student for their tests. We pray over them as they continue final preparations.

Meet Lydia, the Furaha School Nurse

We’d like to introduce you to the Furaha School Nurse, Lydia.

Lydia provides regular health screenings, treats injuries, supports students with chronic health conditions, and re-enforces the need for proper hygiene and nutrition so the students of Furaha can stay healthy.

Lydia’s role is a great blessing to the students of Furaha as each staff member works to empower children out of extreme poverty.

Those Pesky Mosquitoes! May 2018 Updates

“If you think you are too small to make a difference…try sleeping with a mosquito in the room!”

Ouch!

I’ve been there. Done that. Glad my malaria medicine was working. BUT for many people they have no medicines and every 30 seconds a child dies from a mosquito bite!

Tragic.

Standing with our global partners can be as simple as a $10 donation to pay for malaria meds, or $30 to buy a mosquito net for them to sleep under.

No one and nothing is too small to make a difference.

Furaha High School new dormitory – with comfy beds!

Most of us have a room to sleep in, a bed to sleep on and we don’t have mosquitoes infecting us. For the students of Furaha High School, most have no bed at home, no bedrooms at home and there are mosquitoes all around.

The High School is the first place they will have a bed of their own – and have a mosquito net!

Go on – buy a brick or a bed and help empower some amazing students out of extreme poverty. Graduating students can pull their entire family out of extreme poverty.

Urgent Prayer Needed for Guatemala

It seemed like a step forward. the Guatemala government pulled their army soldiers off the streets as a sign of peace and progress. BUT – in Zone 18 where Esperanza para Guatemala are working, this is having serious ramifications.

The soldiers were the force that kept the zone from erupting in gang battles and daily gun deaths.

People are nervous, tense, waiting.

Pray a particular protection for Jose, his family and the staff and children of Esperanza.
